WILDLIFE
Joe has always had a passion for the natural world but his practise of wildlife photography only started when he began his University degree in 'Wildlife Media' in 2014. Since then he's learned a lot about the behaviour of different species native to Britain and how to photograph them. Joe tries to spend as much time as possible immersing himself in wild places, observing and photographing our native wildlife interacting with its environment. Joe has had success in various photographic competitions including being awarded second place in the Worldwide Wildlife Category of the eighth annual Nature Photography Awards at the Scottish Seabird Centre and also second place in the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust photography competition in 2016.
"Watching native mammals such as Roe Deer interacting with each other and their environment just feet away from you truly is a magical feeling. If you're lucky, sitting quietly by a tree in a woodland for as little as five minutes can give you a glimpse into the secretive lives of our wildlife. Seeing wild animals within their natural surroundings is a great spectacle in itself, but witnessing that split-second of interesting behaviour is what I strive to capture in my images."
